Our Girl Kate & Her Growing Bump

It's almost June which means that the Royal Baby debut will be here before we know it!

(I really need to get on booking my tickets... I mean... I'm sure she'll want me there for the big balcony reveal...Right Kate?)
Yes, I'm aware I need help.

It's totally normal that I often forget birthday's of family members and close friends but that July 13th is marked on my calendar, right?

Anywho, as I await my invitation to the baby shower, I rounded up some of my fav fashion choices by my fav preggo princess =)

Here is our gorgeous Kate in her very first maternity dress!
I have to say that I think it was a beautiful choice and the next time we chat I'll let her know =)
I realize that the bump close up photo is just a smidge creepy but I couldn't resist because
BABY BUMP!

So. This shot on the right about made me squeal out loud - I mean LOOK AT THE SIZE OF THAT BUMP! Yay for babies and baby-sized tiaras =)

Side note - What do you think the rules are about touching the Royal bump? I mean, should I send one of these?
Maybe I should go with this...

I am crushing pretty hard on this polka dot number and adore that someone got a shot of a curtsey =) I'm guessing I should work on that greeting as my normal approach of bear hugging people I adore might not be a fit for a Princess.

So.... what do you think we're going to have? A prince or princess?

Met Gala Breakdown

What do you get when you combine the most random concoction of celebrities ever,  Vogue magazine, the fashion forward attitude of NYC, and the theme "Punk: Chaos to Couture"?

Two words:
MET. Gala.

Some attendees took the theme and raaaaan with it while there were a few who just completely confused me =)
 Let me share, shall I?

~

I promise you that this woman played Carrie Bradshaw long enough that she has actually become her... I ADORE Sara Jessica Parker!  I mean - the woman is sporting a mohawk and ownin' it!
I'm fairly certain that she could show up at Target like this and make it seem totally normal...

Minka Kelly isn't a celeb that I usually stalk follow but she may have won me over with this lovely ensemble...
I spotted this dress on the Carolina Herrera runway in the fall and think is translated well to 'real life'... and, it's purple =) (Kristi Fun Fact: Purple is my all time favorite color)  I ADORE the hair ornament situation too... It's like a tiarra =)

Here's another celeb that usually flies under my radar...
Dakota Fanning.
The back of this dress not only makes me feel the need to do some cardio but also make me say
GET IT GUUURL!
Love it!

I will now interupt this string of fashion wins with a couple choices that confused me...
I'm going to caption this collage simply...
"Huh?"
The eyeshadow , the white hair, the attached gloves... I don't get it.  Kim looks like she was attacked by a curtain and I'm fairly positive I wore eye shadow that thick in 8th grade...
'A' for effort ladies but I'm not sure it translated well.

We can't leave out this lovely lady... I mean - This whole shin dig IS hosted by Vogue =)
I like her take on the runway look... She may have a reputation of being scary or mean but - hey - she knows her fashion =)

And finally, can I just throw in that quotes such as this is just one of the reasons Grace Coddington is amazing?
Dear Grace, Please be my friend?

Did you catch Met Gala?? Thoughts??

How to we feel about press on nails?

Okey dokey....

So it's getting a tad late here in Nashvegas but I am still awake pondering the deepest concepts in the universe...

And by that I mean that I am thinking long and hard about press on nails.

Ok.

So 1994 (or so) brought the huuuge trend of Lee Press on Nails.... Example:

Loooovely right?

And I am not going to pretend that I didn't try them out at some point in my angsty preteen years.

Well, fast forward a bit to a converstion I had with a fabulous and - might I add - stylish lady...
I was admiring her fabulous FLORESCENT nail color when she dropped a bomb on me.

The nails were fake - FAKE!

And by "fake" I don't mean glue on but good old fashioned press on nails.
I was speechless - which never happens!

So, I did a little research and it seems like the press on nail trend has rebounded and caught up to 2013
=)

Let me introduce you to our new found friend:

Impress Press On Manicure

They seem SO fabulous and are most definitely not the cheapy plastic of yesteryear!

I haven't PERSONALLY tried them YET but a dear real life AND bloggy friend (Hellllloooo Elly!) did and they were a HIT!!  She is seriously the most style savvy person I know in real life so I trust her opinion without question...She used the super bright pink ones and they were A-MAZING!
I think I stared at her hands (in a non-creepy way? Is that's possible...) most of the day...

A couple fun facts that she shared with moi:

* Buy the short ones... Even the short ones are long and need filing down.

* They were able to come off pretty easily  - which was the part I was worried about! Apparently, the package tells you to put a little nail polish remover around the edges of the nails and let it sit for a few minutes, then peel them off.... She was able to get the off suuuper easily!

So lovelies - have any of you tried them?? Thoughts??

Hand Flower Obsession

I have for sure become Queen of Dropping the ball this week - the lack of blog updates is perfect evidence =) Sorry about that but fear not -
I will get back on track and remember what day it is this weekend sometime.
Maybe.

Sooooo...
Since I am already behind on posting and completely out of the schedule that I like to attempt feebly keep, I thought I'd babble for a sec about a new little obsession of mine.

Have you seen these around?

A common name for them is "Slave Bracelets" but that makes me uncomfortable so we are going to opt for another name I've heard: Hand Flower =)

I got one of these beauties (made by a local artist!) for Christmas and am officially OBSESSED!
Every time I wear it I get enough compliments to give me a big head
and make me feel oodles cooler than I really am.

Here are few others I would live to add to my collection:

Because with only two hands I clearly need at least a dozen of these.

Sometimes my obsessive tendencies even frighten me.

Have you worn one of these before? What is your current style obsession I should know about?
Spill ladies... let's not keep style secrets from one another =)

Oscar Breakdown...

The Oscars...

I'm sure it's no surprise that I love me some Oscar Red Carpet.
It's the top of the line, the most formal of all things award season - it's like the top dog of red carpets!

(I'm sure that is the classiest description you'll find of such a formal even... "top dog"... excuse me while I go buy a thesaurus.)

Anyway...

I ADORE The Oscar's.
There is something old Hollywood about all of the pomp and circumstance...like Audrey herself may wander by all "Holly Golightly" style.
I also appreciate knowing that, unlike The Grammy's the ladies are going to come completely clothed and classy and beautiful...

I'm not even sure I can pick a favorite BUT....I'll try =)
Here are some of the highlights for me...

* Jennifer Anniston *
Oh my girl Jenn... My love for Rachel Jennifer runs deep and she is definitely one of my pretend BFF's.  I'm still recovering from the big split of 2005 and may or may not feel more invested in her finding love again then people I know in real life =)  I thought she looked A-MAZING and I about shed a tear of joy at the cuteness of her and her fella Justin being all cute...
*sigh*
Team Jennifer forever...

Speaking of Jennifer's....
Sweet Jennifer Lawrence.... I'm not sure I have ever seen a more graceful fall. It looks like she's just having herself a moment and not at all like she just busted her tail in front of gazillions of people. To be clear...

Me falling would look something like this poor girl...

Before we move on from JL, did anyone else notice the way she wore the necklace with her completely stunning dress? She looked every bit the star and I LOOVED the necklace draped down her back...

Another show stopper for me was Naomi Watts... LOVED this so SO much!

This little princess was a gem if you asked me. Besides being an amazing and talented little actress, Quvenzhane Wallis rocked a puppy purse on the red carpet =) A puppy in a TUTU to be specific.
I love that she still looked like a nine year old  - precious!

Before I give you a break from my chatter, can I ask how you get THIS gig?
These are the celebrity stand in's that they use to rehearse for the show... How fun would that be?  Rumor is you get tickets to the show and one of those spots on the fancy bleacher seats that line the red carpet.  I might not able to control myself enough to really handle something like that but I'd sure like to try =) If you have the hook-up.... you know where to to find me!

Your turn... What did YOU think?

Kate has emerged!

Y'all.

It's like Kate read my blog and responded by debuting her precious little baby bump yesterday!!  I was just whining saying that I was more than ready for Kate to come out of hiding now and let us see her preggo preciousness!

Well.

Lo and Behold....

Granted that may be the smallest 4 1/2 month baby bump I've ever seen BUT - that is a bump none the less!!  Personally, I think that Princess Kate looks A-MAZING and stunning and beautiful!!!  I really think it should be illegal to consistently have hair that fabulous but we'll give her leniency because it's Kate and she can do no wrong.  And she's growing a person.  She can have good hair without consequence.

Look at how sweet she is with those little cuties!!  I may have heart failure the first time I see her pushing a stroller with her own babies.

(Yes, I know I have a problem.)

(Side note -  Can we talk for a moment about the extreme cuteness of how that little fella has his arm around his sister? I mean.....PRECIOUS.)

I came across this photo when I was perusing and it gave me a whole new level of respect for how well she carries herself in the public forum.
Can you IMAGINE having that many people screaming your name and tripping over themselves for a photo?  It is totally possible that she has more poise and grace in her left pinky toe than I have in my whole body...I'll need to work on that before I attend the royal baby shower.
I'd hate to spill my tea on Camilla =)

On a detailed note, the dress my BFF was sporting was a MaxMara wrap dress from the 2011 collection and jewelry that was estimated at over $4,000.

Happy Wednesday friends!!

Fashion Week in the Big Apple...My Take

Fashion Week.

It is totally a bucket list item of mine to get to go to New York Fashion Week one day.  If I got to sit by/ near/ in the same room as Anna Wintour, my life may be made.

(Who am I kidding.... I'd love to go to ANY Fashion Week.  Are you an organizer of Podunkville Fashion Week? Hit me up. I'm in.)

I seemed to be really drawn to all things fancy in the various collections and feel like all I did was bookmark, pin, and fall in love with every other fancy ball gown I saw.  Considering that my daily wardrobe rarely calls for evening wear.....well....A girl can dream =)

Rachel Zoe...
Oh Rach... You will always have a hold on the bohemian side of my heart.  The diminutive diva sent some serious beauties down the runway.  Her collection was very vintage, rock-n-roll, and English allllll rolled into one.  The looks were beautiful, clean, and lovely.

Oscar de la Renta...
Oh the beauty, the grandeur, the stomach grumblings from the slightly rabid looking models....The gowns were so pretty I may have taken my chances trying to knock one of those supermodels over and make off with a ball gown or seven.

Carolina Herrera...
Not a designer I usually follow BUT she sent some serious amounts of lovlieness down the runway.  It didn't hurt that she sent some of them down the catwalk on Karlie Kloss - whom I adore =) Seriously.... can someone please have a ball or fancy wedding or even a lavish baby shower.... Sister wants to wear a ball gown!

Jenny Packham...
A favorite of our girl Kate, Miss Jenny has always done our favorite duchess justice and I hope to see a preggo Miss Kate wearing some variations of these lovelies!! I mean....again.... can someone PLEAE have a ball for me to attend???

I'll leave it there for now before this post becomes SO long that Fashion Week 2137 might begin before you're done reading =)  If you have time, check out Rag & Bone, Band of Outsiders, and Lela Rose.... They also knocked it out of the park =)

Finally, I watched a few minutes of some "Breaking News" this morning that involved skinny models.
Models are thin. WHY is that still news?  Seriously.  I have lots of thoughts on the issue but I will leave it at this.... Models are thin. That is not a news flash worthy of time on The Today Show =)

"Style is what one creates....glamour is a state of mind."
~ Rachel Zoe ~

What were your favorites at NYFW? Anyone I should check out?

Fashion Week, Kate Middleton, & A Mani

Hiya friends... Hope your weekend was stellar and full of all things fabulous =) Ready for some random Monday thoughts? Awesome. Here we go....

1 - Fashion Week has consumed my instagram and twitter feeds this week and - mercy - the lovliness.  Expect a longer Fashion Week breakdown later this week but here is a sneak peak of a few things that caught my eye...

2 - Speaking of Fashion Week.... One of the main reasons I adore it so is this lady:
Oh Anna Wintour.... I find her so intriguing.... a little scary but also intriguing  =) Oh - and faaaabulous. She is most definitely fabulous =)

3 - Can Kate come out of hiding now? I miss her.  In the spirit of full disclosure, I should share that I have complete and utter obsession fascination with Miss Middleton.  Seriously.  I am probably on some sort of palace watch list.  If you share my fascination with the most fabulous princess Kate, you HAVE to check out this blog:

What Kate Wore is a fountain of knowledge on all things surrounding the pretties that she wears or might wear or maybe has even THOUGHT about wearing =)  Be warned... It can create a desire to get a keratin blowout and buy nude pumps.

3 - This:

4 -A most precious friend treated me to a mani/pedi break on Sunday afternoon.  Praise the name... it was so wonderful!!!  I've been intrigued by the gel mani's but know that I lack the follow through and commitment to go back for them to take it off soooooo I went with the old trusty...

Best. Dark. Color. Ever.  If you've bought the bullet and done the gel thang, I'd love to hear if you like it or not!

PS... How about one more Keep Calm poster to power us through Monday?
Your welcome.

My thoughts of the Red Carpet...

Oh the Grammy's... I am not sure where to start. As my blog name suggests, I LOOOVE me any chance to see celebs in their fancy fancies and strutting it for the world to see! Before last nights show the Grammy people (that is their official title) released a statement asking all attendees to "tone it down" a bit and, you know, try and wear complete garments that cover all their bits and pieces. The little rebel in me couldn't wait to see who completely snubbed that and showed up in their drawers - I'm looking at you Lady Gaga. Anyway, without further adieu and because I am sure you are BEYOND eager for my imput, here are my random collection of thoughts on last nights Grammy's Red Carpet....

Beyonce....
This little pantsuit situation was a little bit of a disappointment for me. Granted, she may still be chilly from the underwear she wore at the superbowl but - pants?? Really? I felt like this was something that we might see her photographed in any other random day of the week... She looked great and all but where was Sasha Fierce?? On a positive note, her make-up was flawless and I'm fairly sure she could wear a paperbag and still make me jealous of her figure.
 Rihanna....
Girl. RiRi looked FAB-U-LOUS. Her red carpet dress was beautiful but my favorite look of the whole night for her was the ab baring number she wore for the Bob Marley tribute. If my abs looked like that, the girls I worked with would be forced to look at them daily =) I loved her hair, her make-up... and, in full disclosure, "I love what Rihanna is wearing" is a phrase I have used rarely never.

Kimbra...
I can't adequately express how much I want to be BFF's with this girl. Seriously.  I don't know if I could get my left leg in that dress but oh how I want to try.  Some people found it to be a little ridiculous but - IT'S THE GRAMMY'S. I think she had fun with her look while still managing to look like a lady =) So there.  I love how vintage it looks and think she knocked it out of the park with her makeup and hair choice.  AND (I guess I reeeeeally likes this one...) , when she accepted her Grammy from Prince I thought she looked wonderful and that their speech was the best we heard.  I mean... I wouldn't want to meet Prince in a meat suit OR my underwear.

Kaley Cuoco....
This was pants done right for me =) She looked SO rock and roll and I loved every. single. thing. about her red carpet look.  I'd officially call this my FAVORITE - I am sure In Style has been waiting with baited breath for me to decide that =) The sequined blazer is to die for and let's take a close up of the mani and clutch....Be still my heart.

Now that I've turned this into the longest Grammy post known to man, let me leave you with a few tidbits that are just worth mentioning...

Stay tuned.... The Baftas were also last night and they were a a fountain of daring fashion and pink hair.... Love our British friends =)  Also, I'm linking up my Grammy randomness with the fab Carissa... Join in =)

Miscellany Monday

Since I have been trying to breath some life back into my poor, previously neglected blog, I thought that linking up with Carissa would be a great way to start =) I've been a follower of her awesomeness for a while now and am pumped to be diving in!!  Also, my brain tends to fire in random thoughts and sentence fragments sooooooo writing random is just. up. my. alley. Here we go party people....

1)  I've always wanted to be stopped by a street style blogger for being fashion awesome.  Like I mentioned the other day, Nashville is a hub of people who look like they just left the pages of Vogue so I think that's where this sudden urge is coming from. There are two that I follow regularly...   The Sartorialist and Under the Guise.  Under the Guise is acutally here in Nashville so she is probably my best bet for being discovered as a fashion genius =)

2)  I can't stop myself from buying craft supplies.  I seriously have an OBSESSION that may require intervention.  Sometimes I buy them with plans already in place but, more often than not, they are purchased on super sale with ideas that I "might have a plan" eventually.  I would love to have a craft room one day in the near-ish future where I can organize and display my crafty goodies and maybe tap further into any Marth Stewart genes I have =)  If the craft goodies are vintage, I may let out a squeal an octave or two even higher than normal.

3)  I am currently obsessed with the wisdom of Joyce Meyer.  It has spoken such truth to my heart and such clairty to my mind in recent months.  The quote above is something I have to remind myself constantly... That whole "taking thoughts captive thing" can be tricky.  Right now I'm trucking my way through this fountain of faith based truth:

Your turn - Head over and link up to the fun!!
